  • start

  • start here by getting off at the first real exit (the first right is actually a vista point) past the golden gate and then taking a left at the bottom of the exit and crossing under 101.

  • San Francisco

  • start your climb along the coast. killer views to your left.

  • one way

    at 3km
  • this is where most tourists stop. you keep going, now downhill the one way twisties. try to keep jaw off the ground despite the views

  • old fort

    at 5km
  • this is a very cool place to stop and walk around. old bunkers and canon mounts from world war 2. think guns of navaronne!

  • nike base

    at 6km
  • to the west the retired nike missile base

  • speed run

    at 8km
  • if you haven't seen any coppers yet, you could open it up for about a mile and a half... no more housing, good surface, and fast sweepers

  • tunnel

    at 10km
  • the tunnel is one way at a time and has lights on either side which run on a 5 minute cycle. try to get in front of all the cars. then when the light turns green, say a prayer that the tunnel is empty and gun it! feel the hairs rising on your arms as you crest the decline at the top of the tunnel away and downwards surrounded by flashing walls and a blast of sound behind you. ..
