Wahroonga. Move on to Pennant Hills road ( Route 7) also known as the Cumberland Hwy

A fair bit of incoming traffic from Boundary Rd slows progress through here. Keep to middle lane.

We will opt to travel along the 60 kpm route, and not take the M2/M7. Changes to 60 kpm now. Others who want to do the M2/M7 can meet us at Uncle Leos truck stop on Campbelltown road which can be accessed by taking the Camden Valley way exit off the M7. Tag only on the M7

Get over to the left lane early

Lots of merging and intersecting, turning traffic coming up here . Be wary of this. Grt Western Hwy and M4 intersections

Carry on south along the Hume Hwy.

This road veers left through traffic lights. May be a sign pointing the way to Route 56. Follow this.

Stop here to regroup before leaving Sydney.

All the trucks stop here going out of Sydney. We can meet others, who did the M2/M7, at this stop.

Take the off ramp to Picton. This is Route 88 and we will go over the scenic Prince St bridge just for the experience ,then roll down the old Hume Hwy to mittagong

Route 88 heads into Picton. Open country road varying between 80 and 100kpm

Passing Menangle Road on your right.

A narrow but beautiful old trestle bridge goes over a deep narrow valley here.

80 kpm. Sweeping left /right turns over the railway line.

a deceptive left and right goes under a brick railway bridge. Watch you speed here as the road tightens up.

We take the old south road to by pass Mittagong. Narrow. Bumpy.

Turn left onto Kangaloon road

This intersection comes up fast is quite tucked out of sight. It is easy to miss. It is sign posted, but you cant read the steet sign until you are just about on top of it. We turn left into this street.

Old south road is very pretty but quite narrow. Suggest 60 kpm. Locals use it a lot.

This is now a major roundabout. We may opt to turn left here which takes us down to Kangaloon Rd to head east. We can bypass East Bowral by taking Range Road. Extremely narrow in places.

Turn left onto Kangaloon Road

Veer left onto Kangaloon Road and you will be seeing some of Wingecarribee Dam

Picturesque country side. Narrow road

If we go east a short distance we find the Robertson Pie shop . We will be heading back west after we stop for a break here.

Heading west for the Hume highway to then continue south

Sheepwash Road. We can divert left here to stop at the Fitzroy Falls. Well set up for tourists

Get ready to take the Goulburn turn off here. This is the southern off ramp into Goulburn.

Lanyon Dr becomes Route 23. the pathway to Cooma. Follow Cooma signs now.

We're on the sothern outskirts of Canberra but we have effectively avoided that den.

There are lots of kangaroos and wallabys who have come in close the Canberra due to the drought as at April 2009 . Look out for them.

Heading for Adaminaby. Thgere is a sign pointing right to ADAMINABY.
