• Pick up OH83 at the junction with Interstate 71 and proceed south. You will have a nice jaunt to Wooster in which the road is nicely paved, there is good scenery, and some small curves and hills.

Once you get to the civilization around Wooster http://www.woosteroh.com/ you have two options. You can follow OH 83 and take the Wooster bypass, or take Burbank Road (old OH 83) into Wooster and pick up it back up south of town. I like to go thru town because it is shorter, Wooster is a nice town (there is a good used bookstore there on Main Street), and the Wooster bypass stinks as the surface is not really good, and the scenery is less than desirable.

Also you can visit the Ohio Agriculture Research and Development Center (OARDC) which you will see on the East side of 83 just before it breaks off from US 250. The Secrest Arboretum http://www.secrest.osu.edu
within OARDC is really good.

Once you get south of Wooster, the ride becomes very pleasant. Lots of rolling hills and good scenery all the way to Millersburg http://www.millersburgohio.com/. There are a few restaurants in Millersburg as well as petrol. US 62 is joined with OH 83 at Millersburg.

South of Millersburg it is pretty much the same as it was between Wooster and Millersburg, only slightly better. There are better panoramic views and you are at a higher elevation. Additionally for a side trip you can take US 62 where it branches off from OH 83, go approximately five miles, and make a right on OH 520 (see the appropriate ohiotrips post). From there you can go to the ever popular Fort Fizzle.

After approximately 20 miles you will arrive in Coshocton where OH 83 is joined with US 36 and additionally OH 16. About .5 miles on the right will be Roscoe Village http://www.roscoevillage.com/ which is a touristy place that is a restored Ohio canal town. Although touristy, it is still worth a stop for a break. There are excellent examples of period architecture there as well as some shops that the ladies will like.

Once back on 83 south the trip changes it character somewhat, changing from somewhat flat back to rolling hills as you are further south and enter the coal mining region. There is not really much south of Coshocton with regards to attractions. However, the riding is really good; you will go thru some small towns, traverse quite a few curves, and have plenty of good scenery.

I usually take OH 83 to the junction with OH 78 and go from there. As I reside in northern Ohio, this usually means east back towards Interstate 77 where I head north. If you continue to proceed south on OH 83 I am fairly certain that the ride is still good. Just have not done it. Maybe someone can post about it.
