Includes parts of north GA US 19, Cherohola, and Moonshiner 28--makes for an excellent, scenic, and challenging motorcycle ride. Plan your trip when it's warm and dry though because it wouldn't be worth a spit if it's not.

This ride omits the Tail of the Dragon though, which was not worth the risk for an old man like me on a bagger and too crowded and dangerous on the weekend. The rest of this loop is just as good, maybe better, and much longer anyway so you won't be missing much.

From FL, take I-75 north to I-475 around Macon to I-75 north to Atlanta to I-85 north to GA 400 to US 19. If traffic's a problem in Atlanta, take I-285 to US 19 instead.

It's a four-day trip. I spend a day getting there from St Petersburg, about 600 miles, and stay in Blairsville GA for three nights. Ride the loop one way on the 2nd day, the other way the 3rd day, and head back to St Petersburg on the 4th day.
