  • You can START at FM 1462 & FM 762 or Brazos Bend State Park. Pay attention to the road signs, there are some very sharp curves, that could get away from you or if you have are or an inexperienced rider. There are several Historical points, George Ranch http://www.georgeranch.org/, Independence, TX http://www.texasescapes.com/TOWNS/Independence/IndependenceTexas.htm
Some darn good sausage in Chappell Hill, at Chappell Hill Sausage. During the Spring time the Bluebonnets and wildflowers are beautiful starting in Hempstead TX, all the way to Somerville, TX. Finally one of the main reason for the ride is the Somerville Steak House, 900 Avenue B, same as HWY 36
Somerville, TX 77879 (979) 596-1222. If you have a large group i would recommend calling in advance, and advise them that you are coming and they will help in anyway they can. If you leave this place hungry it's your own fault, at a very reasonable price.
