Mostly unsealed and can be slippery in the wet. BIG views. 2 hours to Matawai easy.

School and a few houses. Side road to the falls worth a look.

Hard rock cafe is very hospitable and you can get fuel as well. Pub usually closed.
Wioeka Gorge Rd
Follow the river back to Opotiki (picnic, trout in the river) Investigate the old Tauranga Bridge. Then on to Ohope and Whakatane.
Ohiwa Harbour.
Great fish n Chips right by the road just before Ohope beach township. Ohiwa Oyster Farm.
Coastlands diversion if time.
