Uncontrolled intersection. 80kpm zone.

Turn rt at Nelson Road. Look for gravel. Watch for oncoming cars here on your left

Left into Hacknell road. Pretty country which parallels Windsor road in the journey west towards Windsor. Traffic very light. 80 zone mainly. Farming land. nice views east.

This has been converted into a roundabout.
Veer toward rt.

Pitt Town Road is quite busy so watch out for traffic when entering it.

There is BP servo opposite Pitt town Road for those who find they forgot to fuel up. Servo on West side of Windsor road. Very busy road at all times

We may stop in George Street on the corner of Bridge road to pick up some people outside Gloria Jeans. Beautiful historic streetscapes. This stop is only for picking up and regrouping. When we leave Windsor. Watch out for the sharp rt bend after you cross the Hawkesbury River because the left turn into Freemans Reach road comes up very quickly after the bend.

This is a narrow road with thick tall growth close to the road side so keep an eye out.

Some 60 zones along here

Rejoining Bells Line of Road means a right turn onto a busy highway with no traffic lights. Be careful here.

There is a camera between Queen St and Bellbird Avenue as we climb. It is on the right but dont upset the authorities because you dont have a front no. plate.

There is the Bilpin Fruit bowl on the south side of Bell Line of road and another Cafe called the Pines Orchard Cafe almost opposite. The Pines Cafe is a good stop point. Apples grown in this area. Farming land. Coffee stop only for this run.

Bends along this section and steep descent

Botanical Gardens here and a good Cafe at this location. roads here are windy and you need to look ahead and watch impatient drivers wanting to overtake.

You will have passed the Weigh station with turning traffic and a 60 kpm zone for that reason. We will stop on the wide shoulder to regroup briefly. At Bell we start to climb down to follow the Lithgow signs.

This is the high point after which there is a climb down to lithgow on the Bells Line of road. Darling Causeway goes up to Mt Victoria for reconnecting to the Grt Western Hwy to head west

You may be lucky to see a steam train here on the weekend.

At Lithgow we will stop at the Vanilla Cafe at 32 Main Street. This will be off the main drag. Good lunch menu and motorcycle friendly.

Caltex on cnr main St and Lithgow St. RON 98 fuel. Suggest refuel as 98 RON will be hard to get after this.

Well onto route 86 now and this is great secondary road. Very likely to still be very dry country side in Autumn 2009
