The way points of this motorcycle route:
the iron butt ride - 2300 kms covered in 3 days.. the mumbai - bangalore 1050 kms in 21 hours and after 3 days.. bangalore - honavar - goa - mumbai 1250 kms in 31 hours. started at 0530 / 30-6-09
40 min break at lonavla for breakfast and to meet parents. started at 0820
petrol stop @ shivpur - 0940
approx spot for lunch stop - started again at 1630
tea stop at hubli - 1830
tea stop. - 2030
teastop - 0015
reached bangalore - 0300 hrs started again for mumbai via - honavar and goa on 030709 at 10-30 am
breakdown!!! oil pump failure leads to piston pin seizure.. the town has a fairly large bajaj service centre but doesnt stock parts for 180-UG1 and have to go back to tumkur to get the new piston and pin. lucky that this took me home to mumbai but no further..
